Staff, parents, carers and friends bade a fond farewell to our leavers in our traditional manner - a magnificent barbecue in the grounds of our Centre. As usual bunting adorned the newly acquired marquees, with the Head Teacher’s gazebo, where the presentations of awards to students would be made, stationed on the bank next to the ICT room.

A decent gathering enjoyed the hearty barbecue fare, prepared by our very own catering team, whilst they

reminisced over the student achievements of the past 12 months. The gathering listened intently as our Head

Teacher, John Taylor, prepared to make his annual address.

After recognising the endeavour of students and staff alike each Year 11 leaver was called up to receive their

Record of Achievement to warm applause.

Later there were Curriculum and Special Awards to present and among the highest achievers recognised was

Brandon Waine, who shared the coveted Head Teacher Award with Sophie Morris, and picked up three

Curriculum Awards.

Other high achievers included Josh Foote who was picked out for special praise and awarded the John Holland

Memorial Shield to go alongside a Cookery Award. But equally deserving of special merit, over their final year

at school, was Kayleigh Purvis who proudly accepted the Sunshine Award – for her general happy nature and

helpfulness around the Centre - as well as special recognition for her high level of attendance during year 11.
