We are very proud of the outstanding achievements of our Year 11 students this year. The fact that their exams were cancelled should not take anything away from their achievements; we know our students would have much preferred to have been able to show what they were capable of in the examination hall.
The majority of DLC students have found school extremely difficult and ultimately, what matters most is that the hard work put in by students with the support of their teachers, is properly recognised, and that students are able to move forward to the next stage in their careers and education. All students will be leaving with a range of qualifications and at present 90% of year 11 students will be continuing in education and training next year, nationally this figure is 60%. There will also be continued support in the form of a newly appointed transition coach to enable students to continue in their studies and thrive moving forward.
My staff and I are incredibly proud of their efforts, well done Year 11.
