During our weekly challenge, students were challenged to think about the impact of George Floyd's death and describe their emotions using any medium. Alice created this amazing poem below:
The life drained out of his eyes
His lifeless body lies
His weakness turned into the cops power
The audience stood and watched like a tower
"I can't breathe" he said as he heaved
Killed because of the colour of his skin
No matter how hard he fought he couldn't win
He had a wife
He had a life
His pain was his enemies gain
There he lay, even though the cops had their pay
No-ones life should have to end this way
