On Wednesday 18th December 2019 we raised £60 for the charity, Julia’s House Hospice. This charity was chosen by the Student Voice at one of our meetings. We chose it because it is local and makes miracles happen every day. Julia’s House supports families with children with life threating illnesses and/or medical conditions.
All the students and staff worked together by baking lots of sugary treats at home and at school. We asked the students and staff to bring in some money to donate in exchange for the cakes, cookies, sweets, chocolates etc…
Visitors came from the Youth Offending Services (YOS) to take a bite of our delicious handmade treats. We also took some of the handmade goods to the streets of Dorchester and raised some more money there. This was the Student Voice’s first event but we are hopeful to have many more in the future.
