Departing Year 11 students celebrated their achievements with the annual barbecue get-together, held for the first time in the grounds of our new school at Monkton Park.
Luckily, despite the recent inclement weather, the sun shone brightly as, soon to be leaving, Headteacher Katherine Seymour began the presentation of awards in the courtyard area, bedecked in bunting, outside the main hall.
While the gathering of staff, leavers and family members tucked into their lunches students in turn walked up to the decking area to accept both curriculum awards, special awards and other certificates gained throughout their final school year.
Tyler Harvey had plenty to be proud of as he accepted both the John Holland Shield (for an outstanding contribution in English), shared with Natasha Bolteng and Shane Page, and the coveted Headteacher Award.
Tyler also picked up the Top Student Award for Behaviour and enjoyed further success with curriculum awards for Sports Leadership, Student Voice and Social Thinking.
Shane Page added curriculum awards in English and Geography to his John Holland Shield success while Maisie Pitcher can look back on an outstanding year as she accepted two major accolades - the award for Top Student (Attendance) alongside the Head Teacher Award as well as two curriculum awards.
