Despite the change of venue and having to move mid-course our 8 students played a blinder and all successfully completed the St John Ambulance Essential First Aid Course.

Supported by Grant, Debbie and Phil the 8 students were taught by the charismatic Peter from St John Ambulance.

The course covered emergency life support procedures for adults, children and infants.

  • Communication and casualty care
  • Looking after yourself and the casualty
  • Adult, child and infant resuscitation
  • Treatment of severe bleeding and chest pain
  • Treatment of choking in adults, children and infants
  • Treatment of an unresponsive casualty

All students successfully learnt the theory and were enthusiastic when it came to the practical; working well as both individuals and as a team. At the end of the session they all thanked Peter and all agreed that the course was worthwhile and were very pleased to learn that they had all gained a highly prized certificate.

The magnificent 8 were: Ben, Brandon, Corban, Dom, Jake, Tayla, Tim and Will.
